Questions
We have provided responses to some of the most frequently asked questions to assist you in planning a comfortable and enjoyable stay at our boutique hotel. From check-in times to amenities and special requests, we aim to cover the essentials. However, if you have any specific questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly – we are always happy to help.
General
Location
We are located on 12 Parnell Street, Dungarvan a short stroll to Grattan Square.
Check-In & Check-Out
Your room will be available from 3pm and we ask that you vacate by 12pm on the day of departure. If you wish to arrive early or stay late, we will endeavour to accommodate you where possible and this will be subject to additional charges. We are happy to offer complimentary luggage storage.
The main hotel entrance will be open from 7am and will close at 10pm. The reception will be manned 24 hours a day and after hour access to car park gate and main doors will be possible with fob access.
Parking
Owing to the town centre location we unfortunately cannot offer private parking. Parking is available to the rear of the hotel in Scanlon’s Yard. There is an access gate into the hotel courtyard from the car park. Payment can be made at the machine, online or through the Waterford County Council E-Parking app. A 24-hour ticket is €3.30 (as of Jan 2025) with Sunday and Public Holidays free of charge.
Room Queries
Accessible Room
We have one accessible room which is on the ground floor accessed directly from the courtyard.
Twin Beds
We only have one room that is twin bedded – please contact our reservations department at hello@thehatmaker.ie to check availability.
Children
While we absolutely love children, our hotel is designed with adults in mind and may not be suitable for younger guests. We strive to create a peaceful, relaxing environment, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard. Guests with very small babies can be accommodated in our larger rooms – please ensure you request a cot upon booking as we have limited availability.
Pets
We kindly inform our guests that, we are unable to accommodate dogs at our property. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you for a comfortable stay.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the hotel property, including guest rooms, balconies, and all indoor and outdoor areas. This policy is in place to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of all our guests and staff
Breakfast
We have teamed up with local suppliers to offer you a selection of baked goods, cereals, yogurts, coffee and juice. Please let us know of any dietary requirements, and whilst we cannot guarantee the absence of allergens, we will try our best to accommodate you.
Please note we do not offer a cooked breakfast option.
Terms & Conditions
Payment Terms & Cancellation
We take full payment for accommodation on arrival. Should you wish to make an amendment or postpone your stay, please email hello@thehatmaker.ie
Please note that cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance of your stay i.e. up to 3pm two days in advance of booking to avoid being charged. No shows will incur 100% of the room charge.
We do not accept cash for payment of rooms.
Booking Changes
Rates are subject to change and we reserve the right to change your accommodation should we need to, with assurances that you will not be moved to a room that is below the standard of your booking.
Damages
In the event of any damage or loss to the contents of your room, including stains to any of the soft furnishings, carpets and rugs, we reserve the right to charge the credit or debit card used to book your reservation with either the full cost of repairing/cleaning such item(s) or, if this is not possible, the replacement cost with new.
Your Special Things
We regret that we cannot be responsible for any loss of damage to personal items during your visit. We therefore recommend that valuables are left in the safe provided in your room.
